The Birth of HipHop-New York-1970

Hip Hop was born in the 1970's in the South Bronx, New York. It has become a world wide phenomenon that has touched many lives. Most people don't know but it has four pillars Mcing, Djing, break dancing and graffiti writing. These were outlined by a famous Dj DJ Afrikka Bambaata.
The early form oh hip hop music consisted of disc jockeys(Dj's) who created rhythmic beats by looping small portions of songs on two turntables, which is now referred to as sampling. This was later accompanied by "rap". Rapping originally was a rhythmic style of chanting or poetry more formally in 16 bar measures or time frames. Beatboxing is a vocal technique mainly used to imitate percussive elements of the music and various technical effects of hip hop DJs. An original form of dancing( break dancing) and particular styles of dress arose among lovers of this new music.

The relationship between graffiti and hip hop culture arises from the appearance of new and increasingly elaborate and pervasive forms of the practice in areas where other elements of hip hop were evolving as art forms, with a heavy overlap between those who wrote graffiti and those who practiced other elements of the culture.

These elements experienced considerable refinement and development over the course of the history of the culture.
